We used more than three times the minimum required amount of maltwine (moutwijn), the pot-still multi-grain distillate at the heart of genever, as well as six classic botanicals. It was distilled in Schiedam, Holland, at De Tweelingh distillery. Genever powered the first Golden Age of Cocktails in mid-1800s America, outselling some other imported spirits by 450 to 1. Then, as now, genever was equally at home in the penthouse or on the pavement. Millionaires and members of the sporting fraternity have it in a punch or an old fashioned; connoisseurs drink it in a Collins; honest labourers have it in a shot, as a boilermaker, with a beer.

This is the rarest style of real Dutch genever in the world - 100% Maltwine and bearing the Seal of Schiedam, the most revered distilling city in Holland.
